Dr. Feinstein is carefully trained on the subcutaneous insertion technique of the pellet. There are two types of pellet therapy: estradiol and testosterone pellets. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is customized to each individual patient based on extensive lab work to determine the exact concentration hormones needed.

The personalized pellets are inserted under the skin of the upper buttocks area in a 3-5 minute procedure. This is typically done with lidocaine or other local numbing agents. The pellets are no larger than a grain of rice.

Depending on gender, weight, and absorption, the pellets can last anywhere from 3-6 months. They dissolve in the bloodstream over time and disappear. To maintain hormonal balance, pellets are inserted 2-4 times a year.
